Grow-Trees.com makes it possible for individuals and companies worldwide to plant trees in lands owned or managed by governments or organizations working for the benefit of society at large. Our objective is to benefit people, insects, birds and animals through the planting of trees. 

Trees help restore groundwater, improve catchment areas of water bodies, protect and rebuild soils, restore wildlife habitats, cool and clean the air. Trees allow the natural regeneration of flora. Trees provide fruit and shade to poor rural communities. Trees also remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, helping in the fight against global warming.

Grow-Trees.com offers you a green alternative to the greeting card, and an opportunity to offset carbon emissions. By planting trees through us in honor of someone, you can achieve a triple objective- not only can you have a certificate delivered by email to the person you want to honor or greet for birthday, anniversary, and other occasions, but also benefit rural communities and improve wildlife habitats, and decarbonise and thereby fight climate change and benefit the world. You can also offset carbon emissions from the electricity you use at home and office, from travel by private or public transport, or from flying.

Our planting partners have won awards for their achievements and are carefully selected by us based on their reputation and track record. We also get our planting sites independently audited after the planting. We have won the trust of prominent organizations who have agreed to associate with us. The United Nation’s Environment Program’s Billion Tree Campaign has acknowledged us as an Official Campaign Partner.

The variety of trees planted depends upon agro-climatic conditions and the benefit of those trees in terms of flowers, fruits, fodder, and cooking fuel for the local community as well as insects, birds and animals. All trees planted will be species indigenous to the planting site.

Grow-Trees.com’s planting partners typically work with local authorities and local communities to plant trees in public lands, wildlife habitats, community holy places, school and hospital grounds, and government-owned de-forested or denuded areas. Grow-Trees.com does not plant on private land.

Grow-trees.com selects specialists as planting partners, based on their track record in tree planting, their organizations’ strengths, their willingness to maintain records and offer them for audit, and their ability to work with local authorities and communities. Using local labor, planting partners develop nurseries, select appropriate sites in consultation with local communities, plant trees, and nurture them during the crucial stage of their infancy.

We are a socially beneficial business, not a nonprofit organization.

Different people may prefer to plant trees for different reasons. Some people may prefer to plant trees to reduce urban pollution, others to protect wildlife habitats, others to beautify holy environments and others to help backward rural communities. Our different projects allow you to choose the cause and location where you want your tree to be planted.

We allow you to choose a project, but we leave the specie of tree to our tree planting partners who have years of local experience and determine what specie is best suited to the agro-climatic conditions and the needs of the local communities and fauna.

Given the scale on which we plant, you will appreciate that is not possible to link an individual to a tree.

You will appreciate that trees are planted only on government or community land so they can benefit the maximum number of people. We do not plant on private land or transfer ownership of a tree. Neither does Grow-Trees own the trees. The tree belongs to the community which benefits from its planting. Your gift of a tree is a gift to society and a gift to the planet.

Our planting partners have substantial experience in assuring tree survival and many have won awards for their accomplishments. Many of our planting partners plant a new tree for every tree that does not survive. Additionally, our planting partners have experience that rootstock regeneration leads to many more trees growing in areas where trees are planted.

We felicitate members in different ways. Plant 1-99 trees to become a Tree Champion. Plant 100-299 trees to become a Tree Guardian. Plant 300-499 trees to become a Tree Saviour. Plant more than 500 trees to become a Tree Knight.

We are not able as yet to facilitate users to volunteer to help plant trees in our projects, but hope to incorporate this soon. In the meanwhile, you can follow us on facebook and on twitter and help us spread awareness.

We currently only allow users to plant trees in our existing projects. If you want to plant trees in a particular region, contact us and we will do our best to develop a project there.

All your planting history is captured in the My Account section, which you can access through login if you are a registered member. From here you can resend the certificate to the recipient. If you have not yet registered, you must first become a member. Don’t worry, all your past planting history will be reflected in the My Account section, from where you can resend the certificate.

We do not currently have this provision on our website, but you are certainly free to do it yourself. There are two ways: Enter your own email id in the Recipient’s email box, have the certificate delivered to you, download and print it. Alternatively, access your planting history in the My Account section, and print the certificate from there ( if you are not a member, you can become a member anytime, and all your past transactions will immediately be updated in the My Account > history section).
