Our vision is to be the leader of a web-enabled, cost effective service to individuals and companies globally to enable the planting of trees, and thereby have a significant impact on the environment in offsetting carbon emissions, improving wildlife habitats, and upgrading water catchment areas, while providing flowers, fruit, fodder and fuel to communities and all living creatures.

Grow-Trees.com is set up by Pradip Shah, founder of CRISIL, India’s first and largest credit rating agency. Pradip also helped establish India’s first retail housing finance company, and the first India-dedicated foreign private equity fund. Pradip is director of several companies listed in India and abroad, serves on governing councils of several not-for-profit organizations, and has been a member of many government committees. He co-founded the Harvard Business School Association of India.

The idea for Grow-Trees.com came to him from a garden of 100 trees planted in his honour in Israel for technical assistance that he provided to their rating agency.

Grow-Trees.com is conceptualized as a social business. Unlike Charities that are not accustomed to thinking of their beneficiaries as "customers", and rely on government foregoing tax revenues (which could be spent for other essential purposes), Grow-Trees.com will continually innovate to satisfy private needs for which individuals and companies will be willing to pay, while doing social good.

Why trees? Because tree planting creates low-skill jobs, and trees provide benefit to current and future generations, have a direct impact on carbon reduction, restoring forests, improving wildlife habitats, and upgrading water catchment areas, and offer flowers, fruit fodder and fuel for local communities and all living creatures.
