Love-In-A-Mist

Love-In-A-Mist is native to parts of Europe.

It blooms in early summer with the flowers in different shades of blue. It can be white, pink or pale purple with 5 to 25 sepals.

A few varieties include Miss Jekyll, Persian Jewels, Blue Midget and Cambridge Blue. The white-flowered variety of ‘Miss Jekyll Alba’ has gained the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit.

An essential oil distilled from the plant is used in perfumes and lipsticks.

It is popular in British and Indian gardens. The seeds are used as a medicine in homeopathy.
