Australian trees

Australian trees and flora vary across the different environments of this vast country. The landscape of Australia has a bit of everything from the mountain ranges to the rainforests and from the inland red deserts to the white sand dunes of the coast. Native Australian flora is a unique group because of its age and isolation from the rest of the world. This makes the Australian landscape like no other.

Sydney red gum is a large tree that can grow to 80 plus feet in height.

The trunk is crooked with a pink to pale grey and sometimes rusty-stained bark. The recorded flowering time is December or January, but at the Australian National Botanic Gardens in Canberra it flowers for about one month between early January and February.

The tree has an attractive rugged ornamental appearance with its young red tips used in floral arrangements. It is suited for large gardens and as a street tree.

It can live for 150 years and the largest known living tree can be found in Hobsonville near Auckland, New Zealand.

Delhi Is Gasping Again, And This Time, Even the Clouds Refused to Help

Delhi is choking again. AQI levels have slipped into the ‘severe’ zone, cloud seeding failed, and emergency measures barely make a dent. Because the city doesn’t need one-off fixes, it needs long-term healing. Trees remain the simplest, most effective answer. They absorb carbon, trap dust, cool the air, and act as natural lungs. If Delhi wants cleaner winters, it needs more green cover, not just temporary interventions. Clouds may not cooperate, but trees always will.
