Girl Child Garden

Indias first Beti Garden or ‘Girl Child Garden’ to rejoice birth of a girl child by planting trees!

Shloka Beti Garden is taking shape in Udaipur, India and would perhaps be the first of its kind in the country. Two sprawling acres of land on Tiger Hill will soon be converted to the Shloka Beti Garden where parents and relatives will be given the chance to celebrate the birth of girl children by planting trees.

“Our society is prejudiced and people still have priorities for sons. At Beti Garden we aim to make people realize that there is no difference between them. Girls should be welcomed with dignity and love.” says founder Devendra Agarwal.

If Delhi wants cleaner winters, it needs more green cover, not just temporary interventions. Clouds may not cooperate, but trees always will.
