Rudra Palash

“Rudra Palash or African Tulip Tree is native to parts of Africa.

It is a popular ornamental tree growing to 80 feet in height.

During the festival of Holi in India, people smear each other with coloured powders to celebrate the arrival of spring. An organic red colour powder is prepared using the flowers of this tree.

The leaves, flowers, fruits, bark are all used in Ayurvedic medicine.The bark is said to have antiseptic properties and the seeds, flowers and roots are used in traditional medicine in Africa. ”
