“The Orangutan, the world’s largest tree-climbing mammal, dwells on trees!
It is also one of the most intelligent of all tree-dwelling animals and is considered the king of trees. It spends nearly all its time in the forest canopy where it feeds, sleeps, breeds and raises its young. An orangutans arms can reach a length of 7 feet or over 2 meters that allow it to grasp branches tightly as it swings from branch to branch.
The Malay word orangutan means “”person of the forest””. It forages for food during daylight hours and most of its diet consists of fruit and leaves gathered from rain forest trees. It plays a vital role in seed dispersal and in maintaining the health of the forest ecosystem, which is important for people and other animals like tigers, Asian elephants and Sumatran rhinos. ”

If Delhi wants cleaner winters, it needs more green cover, not just temporary interventions. Clouds may not cooperate, but trees always will.
