Spanish Cedar

“Spanish Cedar can grow to 100 feet in height.

It is native to parts of Central and South America. Largely planted for its wood that is aromatic and in high demand because it is naturally termite and rot resistant. It is occasionally used for tops or veneers on some electric guitars and for making the neck of flamenco and classical guitars. It is also used for honey production and humidor construction.

It is one of the world’s most important timber species and considered an invasive species in some countries. It is often planted as an avenue and shade tree for cacao and coffee plantations.”
