“Pink Flowered Doughwood can grow to over 80 feet in height.
It is native to Australia and surrounding islands. Famous for its crisp pink bouquets during summer, it is widely planted in gardens and parks around the world.
Bees, butterflies and other insects are attracted to its flowers. These in turn provides insectivorous birds an abundant source of food. Nectar feeding birds also love its flowers.
In traditional medicine, the leaves are mashed in water and used as a wash in the treatment of fevers. A decoction of its dried bark is used to treat malaria.
