“Leadwood tree is native to Africa.
It can grow to over 50 feet in height. Its flowers are fragrant, yellow to white in colour and found from November to March. The fruit is four winged and matures during February to June.
Its wood is termite resistant and prized for ornamental work and furniture. The ashes have been used as toothpaste when mixed into a paste with water.
Through Radiocarbon dating, South Africa has claimed that it can live up to 1040 +/-70 years and subsequently remain standing for years after the tree has died.”
