Through these efforts, we have actively contributed to various projects, such as expanding water bodies, creating employment opportunities, and partnering with grassroots organizations dedicated to wildlife conservation, community well-being, and environmental protection. Below, we showcase the key areas where we’ve made significant strides:
Grow-Trees.com has made vital contributions to environmental conservation through our support for the creation of traditional khals (water ponds) across Uttarakhand. This initiative led to the construction of 32 khals spanning 16 Van Panchayats during the 2023-24 financial year. These water ponds are crucial for maintaining ecological balance, providing water resources for forest animals, reducing soil erosion and improving soil quality.

The construction of these recharge water ponds benefit both the environment and local communities. The creation of these khals has provided employment to 160 beneficiaries, offering them a meaningful opportunity to earn an income while contributing to the construction of this critical infrastructure.
These khals have been instrumental in maintaining soil moisture, reducing erosion, promoting vegetation growth, and increasing tree survival rates. The water ponds also support the regeneration of plants, provide a sustainable water source for wildlife, and help reduce flooding risks during heavy rains. This initiative enhances ecosystem resilience, particularly during droughts, and significantly contributes to forest health and biodiversity.
