| Lotus is India’s and Vietnam’s national flower. The oldest recorded lotus germination from that of seeds is around 1,300 years old recovered from a dry lake bed in northeastern China. It is sacred in India with Goddess Sarasvati portrayed on a white-colored lotus. Its flower has been used as a medicinal herb for generations in Asia. The bitter lotus leaf juices are used to treat diarrhea and sunstroke. |
