| Kusum is a beautiful tree found across the Himalayan belt. Its main use is for the propagation of lac and its quality is considered better than that produced on any other tree. The oil extracted from its seeds is called ‘kusum oil’ and is an important component of Macassar oil which is used in hairdressing, culinary, and lighting purposes. In traditional medicine, the oil is applied to cure itching, acne and other skin afflictions. |
