| The Indian Laburnum or Amaltas is one of Indias loveliest flowering trees and indigenous to our country. Its bark and leaves are ground into paste for chronic skin infections. Distillations from the flowers, and decoctions made from the powdered root are given for heart diseases to enlarge capillaries in the circulatory system. As per clinical tests, its leaves, stem bark, and fruit pulp are all found to have antibacterial properties. |
