| Gardenia’s are prized for their strong sweet scented flowers. They flower from mid-spring to mid-summer and many species are strongly scented. If water touches the flowers, they turn brown. Its petals are manufactured to provide fragrance to perfumes and other cosmetic preparations. The Chinese use the flowers as a dye and as a natural food colour as it is not toxic to humans. It is the national flower of Pakistan. |
