| Duabanga is a fast growing deciduous tree and is indigenous to the Eastern Himalayas. It is found mainly in the North Eastern states of India. This tree can often be seen along the banks of streams in Assam, along the Teesta River in Sikkim and below Kalimpong in Darjeeling. The root is applied as a poultice for application to inflammation and to treat rheumatic swellings. Juice of the leaves are considered anthelmintic and is used to treat worms, biliousness, fever, gout, itchiness, and leprosy. |
