Amherstia

Amherstia is called ‘The Queen of Flowering Trees’.

It is indigenous to Myanmar (Burma) and hence the name ‘Pride of Burma’. It is cultivated as an ornamental tree in both Burma and India. The reddish branches of the racemes support from 20-26 beautiful flowers. It flowers from January to March and each flower last only 2 to 3 days.
