Celebrate Global Tiger Day with Grow-Trees.com
Ā
Global Tiger Day is an awareness day and a celebration held on July 29 every year to gather worldwide

attention to the protection of tigers. It was founded at the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit in 2010 as at that moment wild tigers were very close to

extinction. The goal of this day is to promote the protection and expansion of the wild tigers habitats.

One of the worlds largest tiger populations is found in the Sundarbans. This area harbors
Bengal tigers and protects coastal regions from storm surges and wind damage. However,
rising sea levels caused by climate change threaten to wipe out these forests and the last
remaining habitat of this tiger population. According to a WWF study, without mitigation efforts,
projected sea level rise nearly a foot by 2070 could destroy nearly the entire Sundarbans Tiger habitat.
Tigers are forced to compete for space with dense and rapidly growing human population.
Wild tiger numbers are at an all-time low and we have lost 97% of wild tigers in just over a century.

To save tigers, we need to protect the forest habitats across Asia where they live. Make a difference by planting trees for Tiger today!
