“The Squirrel monkey is a tree dwelling animal that has the largest brain-to-body-mass ratio among all monkey species.
Native to Central and South America, it lives in dense tropical rainforests, wetlands, marshes and mangrove forests.
Its large brain explains its intelligence and endless curiosity that help keep track of its intricate social relationships. Troops of squirrel monkeys are known to reach as many as 500 members.
It has excellent eyesight that enables it to distinguish colors which means that it can spot fruits amongst the dense vegetation with ease. It leaves a scent trail whilst moving about trees and can survive 15 years in the wild and 20 years in captivity.”
