Valerian

Valerian is native to parts of Europe and Asia.

It has been used as a medicinal herb in ancient Greece and Rome. It was then prescribed as a remedy for insomnia.

The flowers bloom from June to September and its extracts were used as a perfume in the 16th century.

Valerian has been used as a medicine to treat anxiety, depression, headache and stomach upset.
