Aloe Perryi is native to Socotra and can be found in most places on the island. Its bitter juice has important pharmaceutical and medicinal uses.

The sap has been used locally and exported for thousands of years. It is used as a medicine, both internally to cure stomach upsets and externally applied to cuts. It is harvested and exported to the mainland and elsewhere in the Middle East, providing a valuable source of income to Socotrans.

It flowers in summer and comes into new leaf after the least rain.
