Pineapple Guava

The fruit has an aromatic flavor, tastes like pineapple, apple and mint and matures in autumn. It is a popular garden tree in New Zealand and you can buy yogurt, fruit drinks, jam, jellies and ice cream made of its fruit.

It is native to parts of South America that includes Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.

The flower petals are edible, often consumed by birds and used in salads.
