| Hairy Fig is a small tropical fig tree. It can be found in many parts of Asia and like many other ficus species, the leaves are sand-papery to touch. The fruit is yellow or red when mature and around 3 cm in diameter. It gets its name as the fig is covered with short hairs. Different parts of the plant have been used in traditional medicine to treat ulcers, psoriasis, anemia, jaundice, convulsion, hepatitis and dysentery. Common names include devil fig, opposite-leaved fig-tree and rough-leaved fig. |
