| Eastern redbud is a small tree native to North America. It is planted mainly for ornamental purposes and grows up to 30 feet in height. It is known as the ‘spicewood tree’ in some mountain regions. Native Americans ate its flowers raw and boiled and its roasted seeds. The flowers are high in Vitamin C while the seeds contain 25% protein. |
