Champak

Champak is an evergreen tree native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia.

It can grow to around 100 feet in height. Its flowers are fragrant, yellow or white in colour and used for many purposes. In India, they are used for worship at temples and in making perfumes. They are also floated in bowls of water to scent the room and for garlands.

Common names include Golden Champa, Champa in Hindi, Pivalu Champa in Marathi and Sambagan in Tamil. It is planted as an ornamental tree in gardens.
