| American Linden is native to North America. Hundreds of years ago, Buddhist monks in northeastern Asia planted this tree as a substitute for the Bodhi tree in their religious symbolism. Today, it is widely planted as an ornamental tree and can reach over 120 feet in height. Its flowers are aromatic and is made into a tea. The flowers, leaves, wood and charcoal are used for medicinal purposes. The flowers itself are used to treat cold, cough, fever, infections, inflammations, high blood pressure and headaches. |
