Rosemary

Rosemary is an evergreen herb with needle-like leaves and white, pink, purple, or blue flowers. It is native to the Mediterranean region.

Its name “rosemary” is derived from the Latin word for “dew” (ros) and “sea” (marinus), or “dew of the sea” as it does not need water other than the humidity carried by the sea breeze to live in many locations.

The flower is known widely for its nutritional benefits as it contains vitamin B, A, C and is also an excellent source of iron. Its oil is used in perfumes, shampoos and cleaning products.
