Rafflesia arnoldii

Rafflesia arnoldii is one of the three national flowers in Indonesia. The flower grows to a diameter of around one meter and weighing up to 11 kilograms.

It is noted for producing the largest individual flower on earth (at least by weight), and a strong odour of decaying flesh when it blooms. Because of this unpleasant odour, it is also called Corpse flower.

It is a parasitic plant, with no visible leaves, roots, or stem. It attaches itself to a host plant to obtain water and nutrients.
