| The Mustard plants seed is used as a spice. By grinding and mixing the seeds with water, vinegar or other liquids, it creates the yellow condiment known as mustard. The seeds are also pressed to make mustard oil and the edible leaves are eaten as mustard greens. Recent research into varieties of mustards that have a high oil content can be used in the production of biodiesel. The leftover meal after pressing out the oil has been found to be an effective pesticide. The high vitamin E content of mustard oil is said to help improve skin health. |
