| Medlar is a small tree and the name of the fruit of this tree. The fruit has been cultivated since Roman times and is eaten raw and added in various dishes. Despite its Latin name (Germanic medlar), it is native to southwest Asia and southeastern Europe. It is believed to have been cultivated as long as 3000 years ago. |
