| Carthusian Pink is native to parts of Europe and is cultivated for ornamental purposes. It grows in dry and grassy habitats at altitudes of up to 2,500 meters. Its flowers are dark pink to purple. Carthusian monks used it to treat muscle pain and rheumatism. Some types can tolerate soil containing heavy metals such as lead and zinc and are useful for revegetating polluted areas. |
