| Buddha’s hand is a small tree with long and irregular branches covered in thorns. The fruit is fragrant and is used in China and Japan for perfuming rooms and clothing. Its fruit can be given as a religious offering in Buddhist temples. As per tradition, Buddha prefers the “fingers” of the fruit to be in a position where they resemble a closed rather than an open hand, as closed hands symbolize to Buddha the act of prayer. |
