| The Avocado tree is native to central Mexico and grows upto 66 ft in height. There are around 80 different varieties and the most common being Hass Avocado. The fruit is known as an alligator pear because of its shape, green skin, and rough texture. In Philippines, Brazil, Indonesia, Vietnam, and southern India (Kerala and Karnataka), avocados are frequently used in milkshakes and sometimes added to ice cream and other desserts. The leaves, bark, skin and pit is said to be harmful to cats, dogs, cattle, goats, rabbits, rats, birds, fish and horses. |
