| Rubber tree is of major economic importance because of its sap-like extract known as latex and is the main source of natural rubber. It can reach a height of up to 100 feet and requires a climate with heavy rainfall. Incisions are made orthogonally to the latex vessels on the tree, just deep enough to tap the vessels without harming the growth of the tree. |
