“There are two types of rainforests- Tropical and Temperate.

Tropical rainforests are characterized by a warm and wet climate (frost free). They are located near equator where temperature and humidity levels have very little fluctuations. They have greater diversity of species and more lush growth as compared to temperate rainforests.

Temperate rainforests on the other hand, are generally located near coastal areas and are cooler than tropical rainforests. They have seasonal climates and therefore have lesser diversity of animal and plant species. ”
