Junglisaru

Junglisaru or Horsetail tree is known so because of its hairy or feathery foliage. Its branches bear long, slender, jointed needle like leaves while its flowers are borne in spikes at the ends of the branchlets.

It is an evergreen tree and is also known as a tree of the sea shores as it is planted as a sand binder to stop erosion. This tree takes 30 years to mature. It has the property of fixing nitrogen from the air through bacteria in its roots.
