Fried Egg Tree

Fried Egg Tree is a small to medium-sized deciduous tree native to South Africa. The beautiful white and yellow flowers look like ‘fried eggs’ when they drop off and fall on the ground. Its flowers attract butterflies and blooms late spring to summer.
The fruits are used as anklets and armlets for dancers to add rhythm when performing and the roots are used in the treatment of dysentery.
