Douglas-fir

Douglas-fir is a common name for evergreen coniferous trees.
Coast Douglas-fir is currently the second-tallest conifer in the world and has attained heights of 393 feet. Douglas-fir commonly lives more than 500 years and occasionally more than 1,000 years. It is planted as a specimen tree and is also a popular Christmas tree.
An antiseptic resin is obtained from its trunk and is used as a poultice to treat cuts, burns, wounds and other skin ailments.
