Baobab
“Baobab, the African fruit tree whose fruit is called the “”Superfood of 2015″”.

The fruit after being cracked open has a powdery white fruit that is a powerhouse of nutrients. According to the National Geographic, the fruit contains six times as much vitamin C as oranges, twice as much calcium as milk, and plenty of B vitamins, magnesium, iron, phosphorous, and antioxidants.

The fruit is not the only thing that helps African families against malnutrition but the leaves are also highly nutritious. The leaves contain high levels of vitamin C, potassium and calcium. A well-managed baobab nursery can provide an entire village with essential nutrients all year round.

This tree is especially useful for feeding infants and young children as it helps nourish those at risk of severe malnutrition in some of the poorest countries in the world.”
