Lychee

Lychee is a tropical and subtropical fruit tree native to southern China, Taiwan, Bangladesh and Southeast Asia. It is a evergreen tree whose fruits grow in clusters from 2 to 30 fruits.

The fresh fruit has a “delicate and whitish pulp” with a floral smell and a fragrant sweet flavor. Since this perfume-like flavor is lost in the process of canning, the fruit is often eaten fresh.

Lychee, translated to English from Chinese spells out ‘gift for a joyful life’. The fruit contains vitamins and minerals for a healthy diet.
