Supari

Supari or Areca Nut Palm is an elegant palm tree with sweet scented flowers and bears an orange-coloured fruit. This fruit contains seeds or areca nuts locally known as supari that is chewed as a mild intoxicant.

It is also a favorite Indian breath freshener. The total weight of areca nuts consumed yearly in India is over 100,000 tons. It is also used for expelling intestinal worms, treat malaria and as a tooth powder in India and China.
