Shikakai

Shikakai (Acacia concinna) is a medium growing shrub native to Asia. These plants have curvy thorns which once grown up prevent animals, even elephants to cross them.

For centuries, people are using pod-like fruits of Shikakai to clean their hair. Shikakai literally translates as fruit for the hair where Shika means hair and Kai means fruit. It is considered a superior cleanser for “lustrous long hair” and has been reported as “promoting hair growth and preventing dandruff and premature greying hair”.
